Thierry Savin is an assistant professor in Engineering at the University of Cambridge, and a Fellow of Jesus College. He studied biophysics in France and received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from MIT.
Before joining the faculty at Cambridge, he pursued postdoctoral research at Harvard University and at the ETH in Zurich, and was a consultant in corporate engineering at Procter & Gamble.
His current research concerns the physical properties of biological matter, with a focus on the mechanical context of cardiovascular diseases, cancer and birth defects.
Thierry lectures in Bioengineering, and aspires to engage future generations of engineers in tackling global challenges in healthcare. He is also particularly committed to improving the gender balance in Engineering.
